Entrepreneurs David and Brenda Locke launched their musical instrument and products e-commerce site just under a year ago. We sat down with Ms. Locke to talk about the inspiration and heart behind the business.
Thank you for joining us today, and taking the time to answer some of our questions! What inspired you to launch LAWK STAR Guitars?
The entrepreneurial spirit! We wanted to create our own path utilizing the knowledge that we have attained working for someone else for over 25 years (over half in management positions!). A business in music is perfect for us, owing to our deep passion for music and our knowledge of the specific, quality music gear that it takes to make it.
Can you tell us a little bit more about your website?
We maintain an e-commerce website, offering selections from the world’s best-known manufacturers of musical equipment. Our wares include guitars, basses, tube focused amplification, boutique effects pedals, and all the accessories that go with it.
It sounds like you have a pretty comprehensive selection! How does selling online affect the customer service experience?
We pride ourselves with the belief that customer service comes long after the sale. We supply an abundance of product information and product videos for customers on our site. At LAWK STAR Guitars, we believe in long-term customer relationships. The site is a home for many musicians, because we know that customer service after the sale is just as important, possibly even more important, than during the sale.
Do you bring personal experience and hands-on knowledge to your website and sales?
Absolutely. Dave’s passion is music. He has been playing the guitar for 25+ years and the bass for about eight years. He also has his own music studio with top of line recording equipment. Dave is a bit of a music equipment junkie.
